This week the Mayor of Bullas, María Dolores Muñoz, has signed the six-month contract with the company Ecoproyecta, responsible for creating a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS) for the municipality.
This company will work jointly with the Group of Studies and Alternatives 21 (Gea21) in the elaboration of said Plan to efficiently organize the different modes of transport that are generated within the locality, encouraging those more respectful with the environment (on foot) , by bike, public transport) and rationalizing the use of motorized transport, especially the car.
The SUMP, which amounts to a budget of more than 18,500 euros, will be developed side by side with the citizens, through a careful process of participation, which as an ultimate goal seeks to fulfill the commitments acquired by the European Union and the Spanish State in the Kyoto Protocol to fight against Climate Change.
In this sense, the first Edil invites "bulleros and bulleagues participate from the beginning in the writing of this cross-section document providing their views and experience" adding that "the main objective is to plan a more efficient mobility and make Bullas one more town attractive to live and to do tourism and, in short, with a better quality of life ".
In this way, the City of Bullas becomes the fourth of the Region, after the municipalities of Murcia, Molina de Segura and Lorca, to address a Plan of these characteristics.
In addition, the future approval of the SUMP in the Plenary will allow the municipality to opt for "grants to unique projects of local entities that favor the transition to a low carbon economy, within the framework of the ERDF Operational Program for sustainable growth 2014-2020" designated by the IDAE, Institute for the Diversification and Saving of the Energy, point out from the bulletin Consistory.
