Bullas manifests for International Women's Day claiming equality (08/03/2019)

This morning, the neighbors of Bullas have come to the call of the Department of Equality and Social Services of the City of Bullas for March 8, International Women's Day, date indicated in the calendar to recognize the women artisans of History and the struggle for their liberation and achievement of equal opportunities in all areas of society.

In the Plaza de España, first the Councilwoman of the area, Chari Martínez, and, later, the Mayor, María Dolores Muñoz, who has read a manifesto, have wished that "hopefully this day did not have to celebrate more because that would mean that the equality between men and women is real ".

The first Edil has declared in the manifesto that "although progress in equality has been important, there is still much to be achieved." It is necessary to end the many discriminations to which women are subject: labor, salary, glass ceiling, lack of representativeness and of feminine referents, lack of family co-responsibility or assignment of stereotypes due to gender issues ".

After reading the institutional declaration, a group of women from Bullas have recited poems and read phrases such as "this society will only advance if we have the same rights, freedoms and opportunities".

In addition, they have finished with a song that they have composed and in which they ask the man to be allies to end the patriarchy or join the fight for equality.
