The huertanos go out to the street to celebrate San Marcos (06/05/2019)

Yesterday, Sunday, was celebrated one of the most popular festivities of the municipality of Bullas: the Festivity of San Marcos.

The regional costumes, the smell of the flowers of the floats and the balconies and the music made for a very festive and colorful day.

At 8 o'clock in the morning, began with the prayer procession with the images of San Isidro Labrador, Santa María de la Cabeza, San Juan Evangelista and the patron saint, the Virgen del Rosario.

The local parish priest blessed the fields upon his arrival in La Murta.

After the procession, gave way to the great parade of floats, which started from the Avenue of Murcia and culminated in the spot of La Rafa.

As in previous years, the floats, participated in a contest to the best decorated carriage with important prizes.

Some 49 floats participated in the parade that had more than 2,500 participants of all ages who knew how to enjoy without any notable incident on a great sunny day and pleasant temperature.

The participants decorated their floats with typical elements of the garden, mainly related to the culture of wine and the traditions huertanas.

It was the rock Los Terrys that won the first prize, El Trillo second, third El Olivo rock, fourth place for La Barra Huertana and in fifth position the El Torrao rock.

The prizes of the float contest were delivered at the end of the afternoon in La Rafa where a Sunday of coexistence was lived in which there was no shortage of diverse activities and live music.

The winners of the contest of window dressing and balconies and windows 'La Primavera en Bullas 2019' were also awarded.

The window dressing won Ana Fashion whose check handed the Department of Commerce and the contest of sales and balconies was as follows: first prize for José Luis Fernández Mediodía Street, second prize for Antonia Amor Hospital Street and third prize for Luisa Albadalejo from Camino Real street.

Together with these celebrations of yesterday, on Saturday, in addition, the National Folklore Festival took place, which this year celebrated its 37th edition.

Likewise, last Saturday there was also a mini fair of the tapa of San Marcos in La Rafa, the nerve center of this party, with tapas and beer at popular prices and with an unbeatable atmosphere to get involved in this very participative and colorful party.
