The Civil Guard dismantles a bullet in Bullas with a large number of weapons and explosive devices

The zulo was under a ship and was accessed through a camouflaged door on the ground that was operated with a switch

The alleged perpetrator is credited with the crimes of illicit possession of weapons and deposit of weapons

In the records made, more than thirty weapons and several explosive devices were intervened

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the 'REFON' operation, has arrested a person who had enabled a zulo under a Bullas building, in which he stored a large number of weapons and explosive devices.

The proceedings began when the Civil Guard detected the possible existence of a private warehouse in Bullas that apparently housed a large number of weapons and other objects related to them.

Effective Prevention of Citizen Security of the Benemérita opened the corresponding investigation to verify the facts and, where appropriate, clarify them with the arrest of the person responsible for the collection of weapons and the seizure of them.

During the last weeks, the Civil Guard has developed a series of investigations that have allowed verifying the supposedly illicit deposit of a large number of weapons in a Bullas property.

Once all the necessary indications have been obtained, during the last days, the Civil Guard has made the entry and registration in a Bullas property, in which a fully camouflaged area has been located, where a large number of weapons, ammunition and explosive devices, and the alleged perpetrator has been arrested for crimes of illegal possession and deposit of weapons.

The vast majority of the weapons and explosives seized were in an underground ground that was accessed by a hidden door on the floor of a warehouse, which opened with a hidden switch.

When the switch was actuated, an engine that raised the concrete floor door was put into operation and through the stairs the underground zone was accessed.

In addition to the weapons, there was also a work table with various tools in the passenger compartment, so it is not ruled out that the now detained could have used the zulo in order to manipulate and modify unused weapons for commissioning.

The explosives seized two mortar shells and two hand grenades have had to be detonated by the Explosives Deactivation Group (GEDEX) of the Civil Guard, given the danger of explosion involved in its manipulation.

Seized effects:

During the search, the Civil Guard has seized three rifles, nine shotguns, two rifles, a carbine, nine guns, four revolvers, two revolver frames, three boxes with machine guns, two hand grenades, two projectiles mortar, a large caliber cartridge, several rifle and short gun cartridges, several gun sleeves, tools and precision screwdrivers.

Some weapons are from war and could belong to the Army

Some of the weapons seized have turned out to be war rifles and it is investigated whether they could belong to the Spanish Army.

Several machine gun cannons have also been seized, all considered as weapons of war.

The study of documentation and seized weapons, as well as the analysis of the information obtained during the investigation, has not determined that they are linked to violent or terrorist groups.

The main research line has been the collection of weapons.

The detainee, the effects seized and the proceedings taken have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Mula (Murcia).
