The Mancomunidad de los Canales del Taibilla (MCT), attached to the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, has begun the works to improve the water supply for the population of Bullas. The MCT has three reserve tanks for regulating and storing the water supplied to Bullas.
Two of them accumulate a total capacity of 3,100 cubic meters and the third has a capacity greater than 5,000 cubic meters.
This circumstance has limited the regulation capacity to date, since the existence of a second pipe that would allow the passage of water from the tank located at the highest height to the two that are lower would allow a greater operation of the entire volume of regulation and simultaneous operation of the drive and the entire storage capacity. To solve this circumstance, the Project contemplates the connection of the upper and lower reservoirs by means of a new line of 480 meters of ductile pipe of 200 millimeters in diameter.
This pipe will connect the outlet of the tank located at a higher elevation with the inlets of the tanks with lower elevation, allowing the simultaneous filling of the three tanks.
This supply improvement project will involve an investment of 104,275.27 Euros. The Councilor for Works and Services Juan Valera points out that "these works are very important for the municipality of Bullas and will provide more pressure to areas of the urban area and to the rural networks of our municipality."
