The Bullas City Council asks to reduce the number of contacts and mobility of neighbors due to the increase in Covid-19 cases (24/10/2020)

Yesterday at a press conference the Mayor María Dolores Muñoz, the Councilor for Citizen Security, Alfonso Manuel Guirado, the Coordinator of the Bullas Health Center, Salvador Egea, and the Manager of Health Area IV of the Region of Murcia, Mercedes Barba appeared , for the situation in the municipality with respect to the coronavirus. Both from the Bullas Health Center and from the IV Health area, through their spokespersons, it was explained that the situation is complicated, a moment in which yes or yes we have to reduce the social circle to the maximum and for this there is no another to limit mobility as much as possible. Barba showed data, showing in a graph the upturn in cases in recent weeks in Bullas, reaching today an incidence of 1,248.9 (AI) per 100,000 inhabitants.

For his part, the Coordinator of the Health Center went further and asked citizens for maximum responsibility, stating that the only way to reduce infections is self-confinement. From the City Council, the Councilor for Citizen Security enunciated a series of measures that will be taken at the municipal level to stop the incidence of Covid-19.

These for the next 15 days, starting this Monday, are the following: Closure of parks and gardens of the municipality and the district of La Copa. Closing of the La Rafa area. Closure of all municipal facilities: Study Room, Library, Old Schools, Music School, Social Center. The weekly market on Tuesday and Saturday will be suspended. All sports activities organized by the City Council will be suspended. The capacity in the Plaza de Abastos will be controlled. The campsite capacity will be reduced to 50%. In addition, all these measures will also reinforce disinfection in streets and access to educational centers and Health Center.

And police surveillance with the Local Police, Civil Guard and Civil Protection will be intensified. "From the city council, due to the powers that we have, we cannot do beyond these measures," said Alfonso Manuel Guirado, who called for an effort to reduce contacts between people and mobility so that the number of infections decreases. The Mayor, who closed the press conference, revealed that all these measures are taken to prevent and that they have been agreed with the Health Center, Health area IV and the General Directorate of Public Health.

Also, he joined the request to the public to reduce contacts.

"We have to manage not to cause greater damage, I wish we had the certainty that the infections produced a disease with normal parameters without complications, but nobody has that certainty and we have to protect ourselves, protecting ourselves."
