Bullas is the second municipality more recycled glass Region (18/05/2016)

Ecovidrio held Tuesday World Recycling Day in order to raise public awareness about the importance of recycling glass and an essential element of minimizing the effects of climate change.

According to a report made public, Murcia recycled 23,281 tons of glass packaging waste through the green container during 2015, representing an increase of 6% over 2014.

In this sense, Bullas is the second population of the Region of Murcia, behind eyes, glass recycling, with an average of 30.52 kg per capita, twice the national regional average (16 kg / hab) and (15.5 kg / hab).

"This is very good news, we are well above the average in the region and we are happy. We have to keep working and promoting recycling as a direct impact on our economy and contribute in improving the environment" said Councilman bouquet, Juan Valera.

And these figures represent a saving for the council because if all this glass container had thrown the rest, would have had a cost of approximately € 15,000.

Furthermore, it has avoided the emission of 246 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, saving consumption of 430.5 tons of raw materials and also saving 968 MWh in electricity.
