Bullas claims more generous State Budgets with the cause of the fight against Gender Violence (19/06/2017)

At noon, Bullas City Council has responded to the call of the 'Feminist Movement of Valencia' by joining the initiative # 19JAlertaFeminist # 19JVamosporTodas, being the first municipalities of the Region to do so, to claim that in the next General State Budget for 2017 is extended the item assigned to finance the fight against the Machista Violence.

The Plaza of Spain has served as a stage for this claim with a large audience, among whom were supporting the cause the girls of the Bulla Morada Brigade and the Maticate Theater group who, together, have performed a performance to finalize the act.

Prior to this, the Councilor for Equality and Women, Chari Martínez, accompanied by the Mayor, Maria Dolores Muñoz, government colleagues and workers of the City Council and also the Equality and Social Services agents, read a manifesto in which he indicated the small amount Allocated in the field of equality and women of only 0.00011% of total budgets, 10% less than 7 years ago.

In this sense, the Council said that this means that "no euro is allocated in the educational, health and media fields, which does not address sexual violence as provided for in the Istanbul Convention of 2014, implies that the response is not improved Judicial and not cover the cost of legal, psychological and social services in local entities established in the Equality Act. "

All these reasons why the people present today in the Plaza and from the City of Bullas require the Spanish Government to allocate 120 million euros in the item against the Machista Violence.

"We do not admit reductions or further procrastination, the price of women is not negotiable" said the Councilwoman who at the beginning of reading the manifesto pointed out that so far this year there are 28 women murdered at the hands of their partners.

At the invitation of 12 noon, were also added women who have wanted to read poems and texts written by other women in favor of equality and against Gender Violence.

In addition, this afternoon from 16 hours, in the plenary hall of the City Council, will be held a feminist gathering with the performance of Isbell 'Bookstore in the Clouds'.

Then there will be music and poetry readings in the Plaza de España with the participation of the Residence Brigade.
