The proclamation of José María Egea gives the start signal to the patron saint festivities (25/09/2017)

After the first novena in honor of the Virgin of the Rosary and the first chupinazo with the performance of 'Tío la Pita', the House of Culture was filled with public to attend the act of the proclamation that this year was run by José María Egea , Professor of Botany at the University of Murcia.

A proclamation with which Jose Maria Egea tried to awaken consciences because as he commented "times are changing and we must become aware of it as soon as possible."

Finally, he thanked the Festival Committee and the City Council who will consider it for such a mission and their parents, family and friends for all their support.

It ended with a live to the Virgin of the Rosary and live the Festivals of Bullas.

Mayor María Dolores Muñoz, who gave her the 'Bacchus Boy' award given by the Bullas Town Hall to illustrious people of the municipality, closed the act recognizing that Jose Maria Egea was a worthy town crier for his trajectory and involvement for improving the lives of others within their field of study.
