Fiestas de San Antón in La Copa (17/01/2018)

The Brotherhood of San Antón de La Copa organizes with the collaboration of the City of Bullas the festivity in honor of the patron and protector of the animals.

The great bonfire on Saturday 20, highlights among its acts, which recalls those traditionally made by the people of the field to thank the employer for having kept their animals healthy.

It is accompanied by a fellowship dinner of all the cupbearers and visitors and will begin to burn at 8 o'clock in the afternoon.

Before 16:30 a band will tour the streets of the town cheering the neighbors and house by house the Board will deliver the program of parties.

Sunday 21 a mass is celebrated at 11 o'clock in the morning officiated by the parish priest Alfonso Hernández Amor and at the exit the traditional auction takes place in which the cupbearers donate different products, most of them homemade, of exquisite palate, which will later be raffled, helping to maintain the party and this rich tradition.

In the afternoon, from 4:00 pm, other acts are celebrated, on the one hand, the great children's strike with bombardment of sweets and, on the other hand, the Baile del Inocente or Animas, which is a puja dance at the rhythm of pasodobles, jotas or malagueñas, and where the innocent Ginés "El goloso", dressed in a typical attire, encourages the dance and makes both locals and strangers get involved in this peculiar event.

The party concludes with the traditional procession at 6.30 in the afternoon in which, at the height of Llano de la Fuente, the animals are blessed.

Then there is a firework display and then the procession with the saint continues to the Church.
