The House-Museum Miguel Hernandez made a substantial donation of books from the Father Fermin to the Library of Bullas (07/08/2012)

On the occasion of the celebration, next September, the appointment of Bullas Favorite Son of the centenary of his birth, posthumously, the Franciscan Father Fermin poet and Maria Garcia Sanchez, Miguel Hernández House Museum, donated five books and magazines contained in its bibliographic heritage.

Miguel Hernández House Museum, located in Orihuela, whose ownership and management hold the City of the town and the Fundación Miguel Hernandez, echoing the importance for the municipality of Bullas the figure of Father Fermin and actions that are planned to honor him, wants to contribute to this act to expand the bibliographic background of this famous local poet, has our town.

Father Fermin Maria was closely linked throughout his life to the city of Orihuela, being there in the Franciscan convent, where he died on October 5, 2011.

Donated books are:

"Apotheosis of the grain of wheat" ed.

1942

"Moments" ed.

1948

"Hearts and Roses" ed.

1951

"Crying general Guatemala" ed.

1986

"Romance of the tongue girl" ed.

1996

The first three to pass stored in the "old fund" and the last two will be available in the "local background" of the Municipal Library of Bullas.

We have also donated several magazines "Seraphic Youth" published by Choristers Franciscans of the Province of Cartagena and dating from 1946 to 1962, appearing in Father Fermin poems and articles that talk about his work.

Given the importance of this grant, the municipality of Bullas, from the Department of Culture, publicly thanks the invaluable act of coming to be an important extension of the old collection of the Municipal Library.

A particular title, we thank the philologist of the institution, Aitor Larrabide for your interest in this subject and generosity, as several magazines were part of his library.

All these books and magazines will be on public view in the exhibition which opens on Father Fermin on 8 September and will also have all of his writing, nearly 100 photographs and personal items that have accompanied him in his life.

The remaining activities to be carried out on the occasion of this tribute and covering from 8 to 16 September will be released in a few dates.
