Bullas City Council closing the ACT Project Plan setting out the conclusions of the Local Adaptation to Climate Change (06/06/2013)

The House of Culture received yesterday the closing of the ACT Project (Adapting to Climate change in Time), on climate change, which has participated Bullas City Council along with the municipalities of Patras (Greece) and Ancona (Italy) and as the Forum of Cities and Ionian Adriatic and ISPA, the Higher Institute for Environmental Research Protection.

The event, which coincided with the celebration of World Environment Day, I was invited the Minister of the Presidency, Manuel Campos, that due to the Debate on the State of the Region was unable to attend and, instead, went the Director General of Environment , Amador Lopez, who was "satisfied" with the work performed by the City of Bullas in this project and also said he was "proud" of the students of the College of God's Love Contest winners at international level "On Change", because "it is essential to mitigate climate change begins with education," adding that "environmentally educated citizens climate change threatens us we can help mitigate and live in better conditions, safeguarding our natural resources."

The final event was moderated by ACT European Project Councilwoman Maria Antonia April, which led to the intervention of Isabel Costa, an expert on climate change, to submit the findings of the Local Adaptation Plan to Climate Change.

Costa, said, "This plan tries to overcome economic and environmental impacts of climate change on the city turning risks into opportunities", so that the Local Adaptation Plan, Bullas, pioneer town in Spain to develop a plan of this nature , would be resistant to climate changes.

Also speaking, Stefan Moritz, Consultant and Technical Director of the International Network Vinest, speaking of European projects in which the City of Bullas participate as SecretWine project, dealing with the measures proposed in the Local Adaptation Plan.

During the ceremony, Bullas neighbors who attended the audience could see the video contest winner "ACT Change" who prepared the thirteen students who earned them € 5,000 prize for your school supplies.

Finally, the Mayor, Pedro Chico, closed the project praising the work of the Local Working Group has made "a realistic work based on real data, and comprehensive" to help fight climate change.

Furthermore, the first mayor announced it will present this plan to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment to serve as study.
