The Municipal Bullas City Council passes a motion on behalf of Tajo-Segura Aqueduct (20/10/2008)

In the plenary session held last week, approved a motion signed by the municipal groups PSOE, PP and IU-LOS VERDES with the aim of defending the Tajo-Segura, given that, these days, is discussed in Spanish Parliament to the status of Castilla La Mancha and claim the Regional Parliament of this Commonwealth, the end of this transfer in 2015, powers which are the responsibility solely of the State.

The motion gives a brief overview from the construction of infrastructure for nearly 30 years until now and how beneficial it has been for Spain, contributing very positive trade balance, especially in horticulture, in the first half of 2008 shows a surplus of 4000 million euros, of which 60% comes from the southeastern provinces Spanish.

Thus, throughout these years of the Tajo-Segura was structured socially and economically a territory that covers directly, four autonomous regions, which employs more than 50,000 jobs and benefits a population of more than 2.5 million people.

In short, the agreement that was made was the rejection of the Municipality of Bullas the draft amendment of the Statute of Castilla La Mancha, as this is clearly unconstitutional and undermining the unity of Spain and against the general interests of all Spanish citizens, to request legal bodies of the Autonomous Region of Murcia to issue a report on the constitutionality of certain articles of the draft amendment of the Statute of Castilla la Mancha and submit the motion before the Constitutional Chamber of Deputies and all the parliamentary groups present, both in Congress and the Senate.
