The Community invests two million this year in improving the conditions of circulation of the regional road network
The Community puts into service today a new roundabout at the intersection of highway RM-B18 (Bullas-La Copa), which connects with the center of the municipality of Bullas and with the Northwest motorway (RM-15), which will improve the road safety in the more than 630,000 trips that occur annually on the road.
This action is included in the 2018 program for improving the safety of the road network of the Region of Murcia, whose budget amounts to two million euros, and includes six more works in Albudeite, Alcantarilla, Murcia and San Javier.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, Patricio Valverde, highlighted the suppression of a conflict point for traffic that currently involves the intersection of this road with the Sixth Street in December, where traffic problems are recorded due to lack of visibility due to the proximity of a curve to it.
"For the regional government it is important to improve the road safety of vehicles that go to Murcia and access from the towns of Cehegín and Caravaca de la Cruz," said the counselor, who indicated that the new roundabout has involved an investment of 189,000 euros by the Community.
The new roundabout allowed to extend the central island, in the shape of a tear, and that connects it with the north deflecting island.
Another of the improvements of the action consists of a greater illumination of the rotunda, and also the construction of sidewalks has been included in the access from the highway of the Northwest and the replacement of the networks of sanitation, drinking water and public lighting.
In this roundabout, five different roads converge: Carretera de La Copa, Seis de Diciembre, the Bullas access ramp from the Northwest motorway (Bullas centro exit), the RM-B18 highway and the branch line to the highway from the Northwest towards Murcia.
