Following a proposal at the end of 2016 of the Association of Alzheimer and other Bullying Dementias "Alzhad" that made the Department of Social Services of the City of Bullas for the creation of a body to serve as a meeting point for all groups who work with older people in Bullas and in La Copa, we have been working since the beginning of 2017 and giving shape to this idea, consolidating the later Municipal Table for the Elderly, which is made up of the following associations and groups:
1) Department of Social Services.
2) Department of Health.
3) Commonwealth of Social Services.
4) All the Municipal Groups.
5) Bullas Health Center.
6) Equal Opportunities Agency
7) Day Stays Center (AMADE Association)
8) The management company of the Home Help Service (LorcaMur)
9) Bullas Pensioner's Home
10) Home of the Pensioner of La Copa
11) Association Alzheimer and other dementias Bullas (ALZHAD).
In addition, since last May 9 and until June 5, a call has been opened so that five representatives of the citizenship of the municipality of free access who are interested can also be part of it, as well as the technicians who request it (always and when in this case they have academic training in relation to the field of the elderly), being required in both cases to be registered in Bullas or La Copa. Interested persons can go to the register of the City Council in the Plaza de España to formalize the request until the indicated date.
"The Municipal Table for the Elderly is aimed at discussing the needs and current situation of the elderly in Bullas and La Copa taking into account the population of the municipality over 65 years, which represents 17.5% of the population (2,109 people) "explains the mayor of the branch, Chari Martínez.
Among the functions of the Table are preventive, socio-educational, research and analysis, debate and reflection, as well as planning strategies and community actions, mobilizing resources with the aim of improving the quality of life of older people Bullas and The cup.
Activities promoted from the Municipal Table for the Elderly
The recent Intergenerational activity and Intercentros carried out on the occasion of the Fiestas de San Marcos, was promoted by this organization.
In this activity, different users of the Day Center of Bullas and the Cognitive Stimulation Room showed the origin of this tradition to the 3rd grade students of all the Educational Centers.
Also, different activities of coexistence have been carried out between the Day Center and the Cognitive Stimulation Room on the occasion of World Alzheimer's Day, Christmas or Book Day.
Another proposal that is underway and will be developed in the coming months is the creation of a radio space aimed at older people in 'La Onda de Bullas', as well as training days for formal and informal caregivers.
