Last Tuesday, Mayor María Dolores Muñoz, together with the Councilor for the Environment, Juan Valera, and members of the Irrigation Community of 'Cañada de Los Olmos' de Bullas, inaugurated the solar energy installation made by the company Atersol Soluciones y Aplicaciones Renovables SL, specialized in all types of photovoltaic installations and especially for solar pumping.
The installation will work pumping water by solar energy, raising it about 47 meters, from the Wastewater Treatment Plant Bullas to the reservoir of the Community of Irrigators 'Los Olmos'.
It occupies some 550 m2 of land and consists of 171 photovoltaic modules, with a total power of 47,170 Watts, to move a hydraulic pump of 25 HP of power.
"Some 217,000 m3 per year will be pumped, with an average of 14,200 m3 per month in the winter and 23,200 m3 per month in the summer, raising the same amount of water with a diesel group, apart from polluting the air with CO2, would cost about € 18,000 a year, so a facility of this type will be amortized in less than three years, and is equivalent to a light consumption of 25 homes in a year, "says Valera.
