This past weekend, the City of Bullas organized different activities to commemorate 328 years since the constitution of the municipality as Villa.
Thus, last Friday an itinerant exhibition 'Bullas, images of a century' was inaugurated, which will visit some of the most important municipal instances such as the House of Culture or the Bullas Wine Museum and other places in the town for its display to the public .
The institutional act was celebrated on Saturday with the special delivery of the Medal of the Villa to Joaquín Sánchez known as Joaquín 'el Cura'.
The event was attended by the newly appointed Government Delegate, Diego Conesa.
The actresses of Maticate started the first applause to the audience with an interpretation in which they recreated what happened more than 3 centuries ago when Bullas got King Carlos II to declare him Villa and he will segregate Cehegín.

Also, recognition was given to other young people of Bullas who have managed to be the first at national or regional level in competitions of different disciplines such as music, sports, mathematics and other sciences.
The highlight was when the Villa Medal was handed out to Joaquín Sánchez.
"A recognition for their social commitment, approaching and sharing the suffering of the disadvantaged and neglected in our society, without pretensions to exercise any leadership, but understanding their exercise as a priest as a close person who helps others," read the Councilor for Culture and Education, Antonio José Espín, of the minutes approved in the Plenary by the members of the Municipal Corporation.
This distinction was delivered by the Government Delegate, Diego Conesa, who gladly accepted the invitation of the Government Team of the City of Bullas to preside over this gala, and the Mayor María Dolores Muñoz.
Sanchez, in his speech of thanks, remembered his deceased parents in the first place, then he narrated anecdotes of his solidarity trips, putting examples of the always kinder face of the poor who do not hesitate to share their scarce assets with others, a fact that he recognized blushed on more than one occasion highlighting the humanity that exists in areas of the world where they have virtually nothing.
After the intervention of priest Joaquin, the Mayor addressed a few words to the attendees to highlight the scope of the act in which he said "we celebrate that Bullas throughout time is a village framed within a framework of peaceful coexistence, neighborhood endearing, respect in its history, customs and traditions "adding that" this act serves to recognize all who do and will make this town a better place. "
For his part, the Government Delegate wanted to recognize in his words the young people who received a special award for their work and effort and, of course, Joaquin, the priest, summarizing with a motto "hope for young people and dignity for greater "their desire to continue working for citizenship.
The activities of the Day of the Villa finished yesterday, Sunday, with an open-air concert, in the Old Square, in charge of the Musical Association Villa de Bullas.
And in the afternoon, the screening of the movie 'Bullas Siglo XII' by Luna Itaca Producciones and a historical route through the town and its most emblematic places.
