Yesterday took place the 1st protest march of the ecological flow in the river Mula that, under the motto 'For a living river' managed to gather hundreds of people around some of the most significant places of the river.
The march, which began shortly after 9 in the morning, started from the vicinity of the parking lot of the Salto del Usero and ran for two kilometers until reaching the source of the Mula River where a manifesto was read claiming to maintain the flow ecological in the river for the sustainability of the environment of the river, the maintenance of its flora and fauna, some characteristic species of this municipality, and the enjoyment of neighbors and visitors.
Soon after the participants regained their strength by having lunch and hydrated given the high temperatures.
This action promoted by the Department of Environment had the support of various groups and associations such as defending the right of animals 'Paticas' of the municipality of Bullas, as well as all political groups and individuals of the town, which joined with the sole purpose of urging the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura to maintain the minimum flow in the river permanently and maintain a constant vigilance around illegal wells and water withdrawals that increase the problem of the lack of a natural flow in the Mula river.
For the councilor of the Juan Valera area, the objective is from the beginning to require and require the Segura Hydrographic Confederation to prepare a Plan to provide the Mula River with ecological flow, carrying out the necessary works and measures to ensure that the water course starts from of the birth of the Source of Mula.
