The Department of Equality and Social Services Bullas City Council delivered last Friday the awards to winners, on the one hand, the VII Painting, Drawing and Sculpture Contest for equality and non-violence macho and, secondly, the II Contest of Micro-stories about gender violence.
The first prize in painting with 400 euros was taken by Miguel Mellado with his work 'Empowerment'.
The prize for the best drawing takes the neighbor of Bullas María Giménez with 'Rompe el silencio' and 150 euros.
In sculpture the winner turned out to be Antonio Fernández with 400 euros for his work 'Woman looking at the sky'.
All the works can be seen at Casa Don Pepe Marsilla during office hours from 8 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon.
In the contest of micro-stories, in the category of 14 to 18 years took the prize Carmen Fernández 14 years of Bullas.
The title of his story is 'The fear spoke' and takes 175 euros prize.
Meanwhile, in the category of 19 to 30 years the award was also taken by the bullfighter Felix Martinez who also earns 175 euros.
"With this type of contest we intend to raise awareness among citizens, especially the youngest ones, so that they empathize with victims of gender violence and know how to detect any type of behavior that supposes abuse," said Councilwoman Chari Martínez, adding that "the education in equality must be the base, realizing that it is a problem for all and that among all we must eradicate this scourge ".
At the end of the awards ceremony, the representation of the work 'Hay autores que matan' by the local group composed of women 'Vamos a vivir' was carried out.
