This Sunday the first must of the year has been blessed by the parish priest of Ntra. Mrs. the Virgin of the Rosary in the framework of the Wine Festivities 2019. The act took place in what has been termed as 'The day of the grape harvest' that he gathered numerous neighbors in the Plaza de España de Bullas.
Before, there was a parade through the center with members of the Municipal Corporation, the festive clubs as well as the group of choirs and dances the 'Peña la Uva'.
Among the authorities, together with the Mayor of Bullas, were the Mayor of Moratalla, Jesús Amo, on behalf of his municipality that was this year guest of honor, the President of the Denomination of Origin of Bierzo (León), Misericordia Bello, the President of the PDO Bullas, Francisco Carreño, the President of the Bullas Wine Route, Toñi Fernández, the Regional Deputy, Antonio José Espín and also the Wine Master 2019, Juan Pedro García.
Then, the wine fountain was launched and the members of the Peña La Uva danced and sang folklore songs.
Next, the grapes were trampled on by three members of the same family, from different generations, shod with esparteñas and typical clothing.
Then would come the blessing of the first must and a toast for a good harvest and for the work and effort of all the winemakers who work to produce the best wines in the Region.
In parallel, a Cooking Show was also held in the square by chefs of 'high standing' in the Region of Murcia.
In addition, the Wine Regulatory Council of the Bullas Denomination of Origin served wines at the stand for that occasion.
