Within the activities of education for the development and awareness of the City of Bullas for this year, the UN Agency for Refugees (UNHCR) has installed the exhibition "Put yourself in your shoes" on the ground floor of Casa Don Pepe, It will be available until January 8, 2020.
Yesterday it was inaugurated by the councilors of Equality and Celebrations, Carmen María Abellán and Paqui Fernández, respectively.
Both agreed that the main objective is to propose a journey through the vicissitudes and dilemmas that a person can face during the process that leads him to become a refugee.
The combination of panels contextualizes the challenges that visitors will face, with general information and specific data on the situation of the refugee population.
In this way they manage to recreate, among others, the feeling of uncertainty and loss that thousands of people face every day around the world.
All to raise awareness of how a refugee feels.
UNHCR has 7 main work areas.
Each of these areas impacts on one of the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) that the UN and its partners have committed to meet, thus contributing to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure economic prosperity.
