Last Friday, February 7, the Councilor for Education, David Madrid, received the Management Team of the Official School of Languages ​​(EOI) whose Director is Bartolomé Urrea.

The meeting began with a brief presentation on the role that said educational institution, located in Caravaca de la Cruz, plays at the regional level, since it is the only public teaching center specialized in language teaching - currently, English and French - in the Murcian Northwest Region.

And although in March 2011 the inauguration of the new building took place, the educational trajectory of that institution dates back to September 1992.

The Management Team reported on the current difficulties that it has to face in order to maintain the existing languages ​​and groups and an analysis of them was carried out.

Some generated by the educational regulations, Curriculum, others for technical matters such as the enrollment process, and, last but not least, for economic reasons, adjustment in public spending.

All of which has caused a significant decrease in the number of enrollments.

The objective of this meeting was, on the one hand, to inform the municipal representative about this problem, and, on the other, to establish a permanent communication channel that allows the dissemination and promotion of the educational offer of said Educational Center, so that the it is not unknown to the citizens of Bullas.

"The population of the Northwest Region can find in the Official School of Languages ​​several compelling reasons when it comes to training in foreign languages: quality education, relatively wide educational offer, as of today, very attractive price and geographical proximity" They point out from the School of Languages ​​that they show their concern if this public service is diminished, since this will have a direct impact on the population, not only of Bullas but also of this whole Region, since users cannot count on an accessible and quality resource when it comes to training in languages.

In this sense, both the Bullas City Council and the Management Team of said Language School showed their interest and pledged to inform, and keep the population informed about this matter through the available information media.
