The Bullas Denomination of Origin moves the activities of its main annual promotion event to the city of Murcia on the occasion of the Gastronomic Capital.
This morning the 13th edition of the Bullas Denomination of Origin Sample was presented at an event held at the 'Murcia Capital Gastronomic' head office at the Romea Theater.
There have been the Mayor of Bullas, María Dolores Muñoz, the President of the Regulatory Council, Francisco Carreño and the Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta.
The XIII Exhibition will be held on Monday, March 2, at 7.30 pm in Hall 2 of the Artillery Barracks of Murcia.
The event is aimed at professionals and in it the wineries covered by the PDO Bullas participate, offering their wines to the attendees.
"It is a unique opportunity to get to know, by the hand of its own authors, the new wines" they point out from the Regulatory Council.
Before the opening of the Hall, a brief talk about the History of the Bullas Wines and its uniqueness will be offered within the denominations of the southeast, which will be given by the anthropologist and viticulturist of the DO Bullas, Juan Pedro García.
The next day, on Tuesday, March 3, the DOP Bullas Wine Quality Contest will be held.
The Tourist Qualification Center of Murcia will host the blind tasting session of the wines that are submitted to the contest, during the morning.
Fifteen specialist tasters representing different fields related to viticulture will be responsible for choosing the best wines of the DO Bullas in the different categories of wines that regulate the bases of the contest.
The results of the Quality Contest will be made public at the Gala to be held that same day at night, in which the Gold, Silver or Bronze medals will be awarded to the winning wines.
During this act the Regulatory Council of the PDO Bullas will also honor different professionals, farmers, and institutions, in recognition of the effort, delivery and support to the DO Bullas.
The PDO Bullas Sample is celebrated with the support of the City Council of Murcia as well as that of Bullas, the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Region of Murcia.
And of course, the participation of the wineries protected by said Denomination of Origin: Bodegas del Rosario, Bodega San Isidro, Bodega Balcona, Bodega Carrascalejo, Bodega Fernando Carreño Peñalver, Bodega Tercia de Ulea, Bodega Lavia, Bodega Monastrell, Bodegas Hydria, Bodegas LLano and Monter, Bodegas Contreras, Bodega La del Terreno and Bodega Tarbal Food.
The geographical area of ​​this Denomination includes Bullas, Cehegín, Mula and Ricote, and in part, the municipalities of Calasparra, Caravaca de la Cruz, Lorca, Moratalla and Pliego.
