Next week, on Tuesday, June 23, at 8:30 pm, the tenth edition of the Walnut Wine Making Workshop will be held at the 'Templete de la Murta'. Registrations are made in the Informajoven until June 22.
Places are limited, in total, 30 people will be able to attend this workshop, with priority given to those who have not participated in the last two editions. Walnut wine is a centuries-old tradition for many families in the area.
One more year it will be the Peña Huertana 'la Uva' who explains what needs to be done to prepare it, it is important to mix the ingredients on the night of San Juan or the day before.
Its production requires wine from the DO Bullas, sugar and green walnuts, which are crushed, including the shell.
The resulting wine is placed in the carafe and left to marinate for six months. It is organized by the Bullas Town Council, with the collaboration of the wine cellar companies San Isidro, Carrascalejo and del Rosario, in addition to Messenger Food. After the workshop, at midnight, the recreation of the traditional 'Bajada de La Mora' was held on the night of San Juan, which this year due to the current situation and to avoid possible crowds, will not take place.
