Yesterday, at 9 pm, the Mayor of Bullas, María Dolores Muñoz and the President of the Association of Merchants and Hoteliers, Isabel Espín, proceeded to turn on the lights. An act that took place in the roundabout of Avenida de Murcia where the large Christmas tree is located and that could be followed live on the Facebook of the City Council.
A small group of people were present, among which were the councilors of Commerce and Celebrations, and some members of the Merchants Association. This year the lights come to illuminate the streets and squares of Bullas and La Copa beforehand, as the first mayor pointed out "to give hope and maintain the illusion that these Christmas dates always bring us in a difficult year marked by the pandemic. From the City Council and the Association of Merchants and Hoteliers of Bullas, they were encouraged to live a few days loaded with the magic characteristic of Christmas, shopping in Bullas and helping the small business that has had so difficult this 2020. The Mayor made mention of the Peña La Uva and the Rosa del Carmen Academy that in previous years would have been entertaining this act.
The lights shone to begin to breathe life into a Christmas that will be the most atypical that is remembered for the presence of the coronavirus.
