The Murcian municipality of Bullas has started the Christmas festivities with the installation of a Christmas tree made from cans and plastic bottles of drinks in order to encourage residents to continue recycling during these dates.

This particular tree, located in the Plaza de España of the town, has a height of seven and a half meters and is yellow in color, symbolizing the color of the container in which this type of packaging must be deposited for later recycling. The installation of this tree is part of a special Christmas action framed in RECYCLING, the Recycling Return and Reward System (SDR) developed by Ecoembes, which has been recently launched in the city counting with a great acceptance by the neighbors of Bullas. With this initiative, in addition to congratulating the people of Barcelona on Christmas and thanking them for their commitment to recycling, the City Council and Ecoembes want to remember the need to continue recycling their cans and plastic bottles with RECYCLES also during these dates.

Thus, an electric scooter will be raffled off among all the citizens who take a photo in the tree, publish it on their social networks with the hashtag #desseosrecicladosBullas and register on the RECYCLES webapp.

The winner of the raffle will be announced next January.

With the points obtained by recycling, the neighbors will be able to continue contributing to social causes that benefit all the residents of this Murcian town. The Councilor for Ecological Transition and Natural Heritage, Alfonso S nchez, has declared that he hopes that this tree will illuminate this Christmas, differently, but that it will be equally happy.

"A tree that reminds us of the double commitment of being responsible in our social and family behavior, while also committed to recycling the waste we generate." In the words of Alberto Fern ndez, head of Ecoembes in the Murcia Region, "we want to share our best wishes with the Bullas neighbors on these dates and we do so through an element as special as this tree of Christmas made with cans and plastic bottles of drinks. The City Council of Bullas has installed two approved containers to deposit used masks and gloves , responding to a collateral problem of the adverse effects of Covid-19.

In this way, it has joined the Planetary Action campaign #contagiaresponsabilidad and carries out a specific collection of masks and gloves in Spain with the collaboration of companies and institutions from all over the country The #contagiaresponsabilidad campaign is a new planetary action that shows the responsibility to take care of our biotoxic waste and act responsibly with our community and the planet, the only planet we have. Once its mission in this COvid-19 is completed, the containers will be reused for a beach collection and cleaning program in Senegal. The containers will be deposited, one in the green point next to the La Copa medical office at the proposal of the La Copa Council and the other in the green point in front of the Bullas Health Center. The objectives of the campaign are: -To sensitize the population about the waste generated. -Integrate planetary education in social consciousness. -Contact good practices and sustainable habits.
