The Head of Communication Emergency Service Northwest and member of Civil Protection Bullas, Diego Fernandez, participated last Saturday as a speaker at the II Technical Conference on Emergency Communication in Social Networks, organized by the Directorate General of Public Safety and Emergency in Murcia.
At the conference, intervened crisis communication specialists such as Professor at the University of Murcia, José Carlos Losada, experts in digital content as journalist, Baldomero Rodriguez, spokesmen for public services such as the Military Emergency Unit, the 1-1- 2 Community of Madrid and the local police in Murcia.
Thus, until a total of eight papers grouped into three round tables dealt with theory and practice emergency communication in social networks, emergency communication at national, regional and local levels and Civil Protection in social networks.
Among the 120 registered for the day, the second after the one held in Cartagena last year, members of groups and associations Civil Defence volunteers, local police, members of NGOs such as the Red Cross and emergency medical services, students and teachers were academics and journalists.
In the organization of the day the delegation collaborated in the Region of Murcia the organization Volunteer Emergency Digital (VOST), composed of digital Civil Defence volunteers in the fight against hoaxes and rumors on social networks.
