The Councillor for Education Antonio José Espín announced that they have finally begun work on the Colegio Antonio Machado of La Copa. With these works, which is conducting a company of Bullas, and will demolish build again the wall and the perimeter fence the school as a whole, including the gateway.
This was a claim for years, which have fought both the AMPA College, the Teachers and the current government, which have held several meetings with the Director General of Centres, Maria Dolores Valcárcel.
Bullas City Council has made a huge effort to solve this problem, contributing financially in carrying out this work, whose competence is exclusive of the Education Ministry.
Faced with the refusal to perform the work alone, the government team of Bullas decided to share this responsibility with that Ministry, assuming part of the cost of the work.
The completion of these works is important, since the state of the fence was a huge risk to the safety and physical integrity of students.
The Department of Education is very satisfied with the start of these works and with AMPA and school teachers expected to be completed for the start of the school year on 9 September.
