The Casa de Cultura de Bullas inaugurates today at 20 hours the exhibition of 'Mateo Pellicer' on Velázquez revolutionary, modern and without expiration date.
It is a unique sample of an artist completely unknown but who has a deep knowledge of the work and the pictorial technique of Diego Velázquez, since he has been studying his paintings for almost 20 years.
A total of 19 large pieces make up the sample.
The reproductions are almost as large as those of the Prado, surpassing one of them three meters in height.
In addition each picture is framed with periodic frames carved by the same author.
With this selection of works Mateo Pellicer intends to represent the pictorial life of Velázquez and offer a reflection of its different stages.
There are works that represent his artistic beginnings in Seville, from the time he was a court painter with King Philip IV, as well as the trip he made to Italy, with his interpretation of 'The Tunic of Joseph'.
Also shown are examples of the last decade of the teacher with the reproduction of the work 'Innocent X' and a portrait of Philip IV.
This exhibition can be seen until August 6th thanks to the adhesion of the Department of Culture to the Red Plan of Expositive Spaces of the Region of Murcia, promoted by the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts of the Region.
The opening hours are from 11 am to 1 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm from Monday to Sunday.
