'In vino veritas'.
"In wine is the truth."
Thus began and ended his speech of gratitude the new Master of Wine, Pachi Larrosa, with the proverb attributed to Pliny, writer and scientist who lived between the years 23 and 79 after Christ, and which Larrosa used to refer to the close relationship that the municipality of Bullas maintains with the world of winemaking.
On the night of Saturday, at the Wine Museum, the journalist and gastronomic critic of 'La Verdad' collected from the hands of the Mayor, María Dolores Muñoz, and the President of the Regulatory Council of the Protected Designation of Origin Bullas, Francisco Carreño , the figure of the 'Baccholic Child or Child of the Grapes'.
An award that deserves for his appointment as Master of Wine 2017 and that "forces" him to promote the wines of the youngest DO of the Region wherever he goes.
In this sense, it showed that the Bullas PDO being of the three designations of origin in the Region of Murcia, the smallest and the youngest, knows how to benefit their youth, having agility to adapt the changes and energy to face new challenges
He emphasized that if there is something that defines this denomination of origin and gives it all its potential is its connection with its people.
"Wine is in this land a banner, around which is articulated the commitment of farmers and winemakers, politicians and cooks, restaurateurs and merchants, officials, intellectuals, winemakers ... of citizens. From the City Council to the Regulatory Council, from the Wine Museum to the Wine Route and to the catering sector, there is a clear collective consciousness about the tangible and intangible values that the world of wine incorporates into this society, and a clear commitment to work together, collaboration and coordination to use the world of wine as a springboard for a better, more prosperous and ultimately, happier life for all.
For its part, the first Edil thanked Pachi Larrosa that before this appointment he will speak well of the DO Bullas wines as well as enrich with his presence the acts to which he has been invited by the Wine Route Association, the Council Regulator and the City Council itself.
During her speech, the Mayor also made mention of the three Roman sculptors from the 'Los Cantos' site, which we have seen for a week in the Wine Museum, and ended up wishing that we "enjoy the Wine Festivals, of vintage, where events as characteristic as the treading of the grape, the blessing of the first must, the children's cavalcade of wine, etc. are a reflection of our traditions and that involve the neighbors as well as the visitors attracted by our culture linked to wine ".
