The Town Councils of the Northwest Region report that to date, the authorization for the burning of pruning remains of agricultural origin corresponded to the Ministry competent in this matter of CARM.
From the Directorate General of the Natural Environment, instructions have been given to ensure that the municipalities are authorized.
The municipalities have transferred the problem to the FMRM (the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia), where we understand that with the regulations in hand, municipalities have no authority to grant authorizations for burning.
Therefore, we are waiting for a solution from the General Directorate in order to solve the problem that exists, since in many plots prunings have already been made and must be treated before they cause pests that damage to the grove.
There are already many farmers who crush pruning that simultaneously serves as fertilizer for the land, but the crushers are a high cost for farmers with few resources, so we are waiting for the response of the Directorate General of Natural Environment.
Since the FMRM has been informed to the General Directorate to clarify the situation, and if so, we request that the form of authorization to date until the problem is resolved.
Farmers are reminded that the mandatory report issued by environmental agents is not the final authorization.
The report is for the lands that are less than 400 meters of a forest land, forest, river or rambla, abandoned plot etc.
on measures to prevent forest fires.
We will continue to report on the meetings established to solve the problem and as soon as possible we hope that it will be solved by CARM.
