The Councilor for Culture, Antonio José Espín, received this morning from the Director of the Franciscan Archive of Murcia, Pedro Riquelme, a document dated February 15, 1664, signed in Madrid, for its custody and conservation in the Municipal Archive of Bullas.
In this document, a simple copy of the original, Felipe IV sends the mayor of Caravaca to urge Ginés Chico, mayor of the town of Cehegín, to the unloading and subsequent placement of a baptismal font, made of jasper stone, in the Ermita del Cortijo de Bullas, under the jurisdiction of the Order and Cavalry of Santiago.
Also, Professor Francisco Reyes Marsilla de Pascual has been present, who has been an intermediary between the City Council and the Franciscan Archive.
"This is another step we take in our efforts to recover the documentary heritage of Bullas and, consequently, in the proper cataloging of it." We thank the Franciscan Archive of Murcia for providing this important document related to a piece of our history " notes Councilman Antonio José Espín.
