On December 19, 2016 the municipality of Los Alcázares suffered one of the most important floods known in the Region of Murcia for decades.
Multiple facilities, houses and businesses were flooded by water and the worst came with the death of a man because of a strong current of water.
As a result, during the episode, more than 500 rescues were made and more than 2,348 emergency matters related to the storm were managed.
In all these tasks involved more than 1,700 professionals from the emergency corps, including members of Civil Protection Bullas and hundreds of volunteers who traveled to the scene to collaborate.
Yesterday there was an act of recognition to the different Security Forces for the great work and collaboration they demonstrated with the town of Los Alcázares.
Until this act, in which the President Fernando López Miras intervened, the Councilor for Security, Alfonso Manuel Guirado, who accompanied the body of Civil Protection Bullas that was present at that time carrying out activities of humanitarian work after the flood.
