On March 8, the "International Women's Day" is celebrated, commemorating the struggle of women for their participation, on an equal footing with men, in society and in their integral development as a person.
The City of Bullas, through the Department of Equality and Social Services, also joins the cause and for this has created a program of activities to be developed in the municipality during the months of February and March with the intention of commemorating the Women's Day.
Thus, in the Ordinary Plenary of the month of February that is celebrated today a manifesto will be read on the occasion of March 8.
One of the initiatives proposed is to write a motto or phrase in value of equality between men and women and put it in a visible way on the street, for example through a banner that hangs on the balcony or window of the house.
For this, tomorrow a free workshop will be held at the Casa de la Cultura at 4:30 p.m.
The previous registration in the Equality Agency or in the telephone number 667109094 will be necessary. In addition, on Sunday 4 in the morning, during the course of El Zacatín in the Plaza de España, another workshop will be held, this one of plates where different associations will be involved and collectives as well as the councils of Sports, Education, Culture and Tourism.
Also, within the program we find next Friday at the Casa de Cultura at 20:00 a music, poetry and theater recital, entitled "Faros de Esperanza", organized by Clemen Corbalán, neighbor of Bullas.
As for other events, the storyteller at the Municipal Library, the Local Broadcaster 'La Onda de Bullas', the 'Young afternoon' on Saturday and the 'Peque Saturdays' will carry out activities in their usual hours dedicated especially to promote education in equality of genre.
On the other hand, on Saturday March 10 will take place in the auditorium of the House of Culture the theatrical representation of Matícate with the work "Feminine singular".
Tickets are on sale in the Informajoven at a price of 6 euros.
In addition, to all these activities we must add a scheduled trip from the Equality Agency to Monteagudo and Murcia on March 9 and a guided tour on Sunday 11 by Bullas with the historian José Luís García Caballero that will explain the women of Bullas who have had an important role in the locality.
There are other activities such as the call for the contest of narration with the subject woman (bases posted on the web bullas.es), the involvement of Bullas traders hanging slogans in their windows for Women's Day, the work to be done by the centers educating themselves for equality as well as sports clubs.
And from the City of Bullas will be an awareness campaign in various pedestrian steps of the municipality in addition to the memorial tie that will hang from the balcony of the Consistory.
Finally, the Department of Equality has scheduled a root music concert starring women to be held in May, specifically on Friday, May 18.
It will be at the Casa de Cultura at 9:00 p.m.
"There is still much to be done and only with the effort of all, men and women, committed to equality, progress and justice, we will make this possible, every 8 March is an occasion to remember him", points out the Councilor for Equality and Services Social, Chari Martínez.
