Last Tuesday was held in the Bullas Wine Museum the XI Wine Quality Contest of the Denomination of Origin Bullas, an event organized by the Regulatory Council of Denomination of Protected Origin Bullas and which has the collaboration of the City of Bullas .
In the blind tasting of the Quality Contest, on Tuesday morning, the tasting panel was assembled, consisting of 14 expert professionals to assess the wines in blind tasting, 54 wines presented by the wineries distributed in 6 categories.
At 20:00, the gala took place at the Castillico de Bullas Restaurant, where the results of the blind tasting held that same morning were made public, giving a total of 12 Golds and 4 Plates.
The 12 Gold Medals and 4 Silver Medals that were distributed, were as follows among the different categories of wines that competed in the eleventh edition:

The gala was attended by the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Francisco Jódar, the Mayor of Bullas, María Dolores Muñoz, and the President of the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin Bullas, Francisco Carreño, among other area authorities. belonging to the DO.
All coincided in emphasizing the exceptional quality of the wines covered by this Denomination, recognizing the great work and the work that the vintners do to achieve the best wines.
In addition, a special recognition was made to the restaurateur José García Jiménez, from El Casino Restaurant in Cehegín, "for the love shown to DO Bullas wines and for contributing to disseminate them through their wine list" they pointed out from the Regulatory Board .
And, also, the incorporation of young people to everything that supposes to take care of and to give continuity to the patrimony that is the vitivinicultura in this territory and, with "a special affection", was awarded a recognition to Lucas Muñoz Rojo and José María Muñoz Rojo, two of the youngest vine growers of the Denomination of Origin.
