Over the next 14 and December 15 will be developed in Ancona (Italy) International Conference on "Strategies and experiences to increase endurance and resilience to climate change, action that is included within the European Project LIFE ACT "Adaptation to climate change in time", which involved the City of Bullas along with four other partners.
This conference is organized by the Municipality of Ancona (Italy) and the same was addressed, among others, aspects of the baseline scenario of this problem, the integration of adaptation policies, guidelines for adaptation at the municipal and ratings on local impacts and vulnerabilities and practical vision of adaptation, as affecting the global level.
This cooperation project aims, among others, the following: development of a process to provide local authorities with the creation of local coping strategies, involving local stakeholders in this strategy, develop and disseminate guidelines to encourage other communities to adopt the same process and strengthen the competence of local authorities in understanding the effects of climate change and, therefore, in planning and implementing policies and actions to adapt to it.
The Municipality of Bullas delegation will be led by Maria Dolores Muñoz Valverde, Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Local Development, which will be responsible for signing, along with the mayors of Ancona and Patras (Greece), United Nations campaign for reduction Disaster "Building resilient cities."
This global campaign aimed at UN seeks local governments and national authorities to develop measures to create cities resilient (able to withstand and recover) as part of sustainable urbanization.
This conference aims to find a real and effective response to climate change impacts.
Bullas, are already working along these lines, with special attention to the effects on agriculture, primarily focused on the wine and tourism.
