The President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, announced today that the Government granted the Gold Medal of the Region of Murcia to the NGO 'Phone of Hope', celebrating its 40 anniversary in the Community.

Valcárcel made this announcement during the opening ceremony of the new center of this entity in Bullas, which serves all municipalities in the region of the Northwest and Rio Mula, to serve 1,300 people.

In this new headquarters for the Northwest region in which the Community has invested more than 192,000 euros, about 25 work groups to self-help and personal development, mostly volunteers.

The new facilities include offices and classrooms for courses and workshops conducted through the different programs, as well as a room and kitchen area with special attention to cases of gender violence.

Valcárcel President highlighted the important work that volunteers perform and professionals collaborate and work in this partnership as "the biggest investment you can do."

So, said that in these centers, a total of 25 across the region, offers "hope and solidarity to reach out to those most in need", and "that's its great value," he added.
