IU-Greens presented today at the record of the Presidential some 400 signatures for the Autonomous Region required the rehabilitation of La Higuera Source palace in Bullas, the owner of this property.
The mansion, built in 1921 and declared of Cultural Interest (BIC) with monument status in 1996, was acquired by a company owned by Jose Ramon Carabante builder.
The coordinator of IU-Green in the Region of Murcia, Jose Antonio Pujante, has indicated that the monument is in a state of "obvious impairment" as a result of the "inaction of the owner and the regional government."
In this sense, Pujante recalled that the general direction of Heritage of the Autonomous Community has an obligation to the owners to preserve and rehabilitate the property, and impose a penalty if they do not.
"We demand the enforcement of the law makes no sense to lose the historical and cultural heritage while speaking to boost tourism," he assured, after adding that the enhancement of the monument "has implications for the maintenance of the identity of the Region of Murcia ".
Meanwhile, the Councillor Bullas IU-Greens, Manuel Escámez, stressed the "low" heritage with the municipality because it has "never has been preserved as it should," and cited the case of the now defunct wall .
Escámez stressed that the acquisition of the palace by a private company "only trying to obtain an economic benefit," and has insisted that tourism is an economic engine that is not enhanced Bullas will suffer.
