The mayor of Bullas, Peter Guy, accompanied by the Councillor for European Union, Maria Antonia April, has now collected the award "Sustainable Development" by the City Council involvement in the European Project Bullas ACT "Adaptation to Climate Change in Time" delivered by the Minister of Presidency, Manuel Campos.
The Sixth Edition of "Awards for Sustainable Development" brought together some thirty institutions and companies in the region, to which the Director has encouraged "to promote environmental responsibility through innovative ideas and projects that contribute to quality assurance business management. "
After receiving the award, the mayor of Bullas has recognized that "this distinction is awarded the work of all members of the municipal corporation that participated in the project," and that the Consistory has been participating since 2010.
Chico added that "we want to be a reference in regard to the conservation and preservation of environment and climate change so we take it very seriously."
The municipality of Bullas is a pioneer with the cities of Patras (Greece) and Ancona (Italy) in a European funded project which aims to find a real and effective response to climate change impacts, paying special attention to effects on agriculture are aware of the problem and try to find measures that best suit the new situation.
The winners of these awards, which do not involve a monetary award may wear a logo on letterhead certifying, announcements and reports, specifying the year of recognition for quality assurance and environmental management in respect to sustainability.
