The Councillor for Culture, Francisca Caballero, accompanied by the Mayor of Bullas, Pedro Chico, this morning programming activities under the act of appointment of Son of Bullas, on the centenary of his birth, the Father Fermin Maria Garcia Sanchez, Franciscan and poet.
Knight has referred to this illustrious character as one of the best poets of our literature of the twentieth century for his numerous writings, while adding it was "the best ambassador for our people, and he always boasted of his Virgin of the Rosary ".
The dates chosen to honor her figure, posthumously, ranging from 8 to 16 September, in a way, that the petition meets in plenary session passed unanimously.
On Saturday 8 September at 19.30 from the Plaza of Spain in the procession parade commemorative plaques placed on Calle Alfonso Chico in the house where he lived, on the street that bears his name and the Paseo de la Murta where he used to play small and to whom he dedicated a poem.
That same day, at 20.30 will open the exhibition of photographs and personal objects in the exhibition hall of the House of Culture.
From Tuesday 11th to Thursday 13th at 20.30 in the House of Culture will be held in a conference that will be released to the public the most important aspects of his person as a religious and poet.
In these talks intervene relatives, historians, writers and philologists who know his work.
On Friday, September 14 at 11 am the exhibition hall will be open youth and children, an activity aimed at schools in Bullas where there will be a reading of his poems.
The culmination of all these activities is the appointment of Son of the Father Fermin ceremony to be held on Saturday, the 15th, at 20 am in the auditorium of the Casa de Cultura in which Martí intervene Victoria Hernandez, author of the thesis license on the work of the Father Fermin.
Also, within the program of activities included a Mass on Sunday, the 16th, coinciding with the centenary of his birth, in the parish of Our Lady of the Rosary which will be attended by the Episcopal Vicar of Murcia, D.
José Sánchez Fernández will be at 19.30.
At the end, the government of the City team will close the celebrations with the unveiling of a plaque in his honor.
Closing this presentation, the mayor of Bullas wanted to thank the efforts of all people participate, institutions and groups that have collaborated and, similarly, have acceded to the proposal to appoint Favorite Son Father Fermin.
