The students in fifth and sixth grade in public schools 'García Ródenas Bishops' and 'Cunning' participated this morning in a plantation of native species in the Northwest Greenway.
In total there were two hundred students who participated in the activity, half of 'Ródenas' have moved by bus to the start of the track, next to Chaparral Road, and the other half of the 'Artful' to the area close to Carrascalejo.
The initiative is framed in the campaign "one sheet" Cajamar Foundation in collaboration with the Consortium of greenways in the Region of Murcia, the City of Bullas and coordinated by the Directorate of Employment Workshop "Northwest Greenway" .
Accompanying the school on the plantation were the employment workshop staff and those responsible for Cajamar, teachers from both schools and also the Mayor of Bullas, Pedro Chico and the Manager of the Consortium, Juan Soria.
The Consortium Manager said that for the second consecutive year, thanks to the sponsorship of Cajamar, a total of 1,600 students have participated in the 'Revegetation Week', students of the various municipalities that are part of the Consortium, from Murcia to Caravaca de Cross, which culminates today with the planting done by the students of schools of Bullas, concienciándoles on problems of desertification and inculcating respect for the environment.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Bullas, has released the data on the number of people passing through the 78 km route of the old railway line, this year they have around 50,000 people therefore said that " the Greenway is a prime tourist element that structures the municipalities that are part of the Consortium as many of these people visit our town, eat, stay, shop, and this must be added that this type of activity is encouraged among young people respect for the natural environment, so they are two elements that must keep fighting. "
