Local Police Bullas has joined the Special Campaign Control BAC between 10 and 23 December, programmed by the Traffic Department in the action plan for the year 2012.

This campaign is primarily intended to help reduce the consumption of alcohol while driving in a run-up to Christmas and New Year which are common during meetings, lunches and dinners with friends and coworkers.

The Department of Public Safety of the City Council to join this campaign will help understand because, fundamentally, not only to raise public awareness regarding the consumption of alcohol on driving, but also to help eliminate or mitigate certain habits in some sectors population, which according to statistics most frequently occur in urban areas assuming, in many cases, the starting point of traffic accidents.

This was also the DGT considers that values ​​the involvement of local councils in such campaigns as "extremely important".

Alcohol is not only related to increased accidents but also results in greater mortality, being a factor associated with poor outcome in injuries.

Driving under the influence is the most repeated behavior against road safety.

According to the DGT, between 2000 and 2011, has detected a change of citizens that has made the percentage of positives detected in a significant fall in the last decade, from 5% to 1.8%, however it is intended , through such campaigns, achieving a greater decrease in this percentage.
