The mayor, Pedro Chico, recently held a meeting with the vice president of Architecture and Building, Martin Javier Ramiro, to address the issue of cultural 1%.
According to the Heritage Act establishes the obligation to spend on public works contracts a party of at least 1% in conservation work or enrichment of Spanish cultural heritage and the promotion of artistic creativity, preferably in the work itself or in its immediate surroundings.
Chico moved to the Ministry of Public Works in Madrid to order this cultural 1% would be exported to the restoration and enhancement of the Roman site of The Cantos.
For the mayor would mean "to continue the process of archaeological research, maintain actions for the protection and preservation of the site, make improvements in the Interpretation Centre and encourage promotion and dissemination of archaeological remains found in the songs" .
In addition, the City Council has opened the file Bullas for declaring a Cultural the Roman site of the songs that have already been presented in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
