On 12 November he appeared published in the Official Bulletin of the Region of Murcia to the Directorate General of Industry, Energy and Mines of the Autonomous Community granted a permit application for the investigation of hydrocarbons by the technique of fracking in the Northwest Region .
The Mayor, Pedro Chico, expressed his "interest in this matter" because Bullas is one of the municipalities where practice is carried out according to scientific reports that can pose risks on the grounds exploited.
He therefore requested by writing a letter dated 19 November to the Director General, Pedro Jiménez, know the time when these actions materialize, the report on the risks of such use and if the affirmative case that such actions behave any risk to the public what measures would be taken.
