Nearly 8 million investment is aimed at adapting the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Bullas, works that have been awarded to the joint venture "Construcciones Iniesta, SL" and "Gonzalez Soto, SA".
As reported Monday January 26 the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM), this is the result of the tender established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Regional Government to award these public works, "one of the greatest jobs permeated the city, "says Mayor Bullas, Pedro Chico.
The economic pillar (7,948,785 euros) for these efforts to modernize the largest public Bullas equipment to carry out this 2015 has been funded through two channels: 80% under the Cohesion Fund of the European Union and the remaining 20% ​​by the regional government itself.
Best quality for irrigation
After the expansion work and thus conditioning the treatment plant will have a strong tertiary treatment system that will ensure optimal water quality for irrigation.
Until now, the sewage had a natural system operating heat stroke which resulted in the proliferation of algae that clogged drip irrigation pipes.
"The plant will have capacity to debug 6,500 cubic meters of wastewater per day, representing the needs of a population equivalent of 62,000 inhabitants, thus allowing for the estimation of the projected population growth in the area," said Mayor Bullas, Pedro Chico.
