The Ministry of Agriculture and Water, through the Directorate General of Irrigation and Rural Development has awarded 37,128 euros from the Community Initiatives Leader to a private developer for the creation of a carpentry workshop in the town of Bullas.
The project, included in the Rural Development Programme for the Region of Murcia 2007-2013, has been the refurbishment of the premises and facilities and is equipped with the necessary restoration, and upholstered furniture manufacturing machinery.
The conditioning covered aspects such as the adoption of corrective measures to provide the local thermal, sanitary, acoustic and fireproof insulation required for this activity.
To do this they have done bricklaying, electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
The home of 146 square meters, also has a toilet and an office-office where both administrative tasks as the reception and care of customers and suppliers develop.
The Director General of Irrigation and Rural Development, Julio Bernal, said that the Leader initiative "is becoming an important tool for job creation in rural areas of the region" and that this support has enabled the reintegration of its promoter, hitherto long-term unemployed.
This project, included in the line of support for the creation and development of micro, has been run by the local action group Integral, Society for Rural Development, which includes thirteen municipalities in the region.
Funding for the project comes from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), which contributes 75 percent of the amount.
The rest is financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment.
