The Governing Council has approved a proposal from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities, the declaration as Cultural Interest (BIC), with the rank of Archaeological Zone, the archaeological site Los Cantos, in Bullas.
The remains belong to a Roman villa dated between the first and sixth centuries AD, located in the basin of the Mula River in the municipality of Bullas, whose main industry was acquired by the city, which allowed their preservation.
The first references to the existence of archaeological remains in this area date back to 1867, when a geometric mosaic was found in black and white.
Later, between 1905 and 1909, new excavation in which some baths and other spaces with abundant fragments of sculptures were discovered were undertaken.
