Note from IU:
The site of the Rafah in Bullas, a leisure area expansion Bullas neighbors and visitors alike, was yesterday moved by the irregular action ordered by the ownership of some land annexed to the complex terrain that are being used as parking and walking area for decades and whose ownership is in question.
About 15:00 am yesterday, Wednesday 14 October, the City received word that heavy machinery had begun to tear mulberry trees over 20 years.
This morning there was a new logging operation of some mulberry trees.
On both occasions the intervention of the Mayor, Councillor for Urban Development and Municipal Police has failed to halt unilateral action ordered by urban speculators.
The area on which it is perpetrating the logging operation is a rural area, whose ultimate ownership is in dispute, although the City Council has an interest in Bullas be finally consolidated as public space, as both the people of the coming Bullas thus using for decades and there is broad consensus that this area should remain undeveloped area.
Thus, the full City Council approved a motion earlier this year in defense of the public.
However it is well known speculative interest that moves on the subject property, which is committed to carry out irrational urban development in areas adjacent to Rafah and that the City does not intend to authorize, as it is clearly contrary to the general interests of the people of Bullas.
Not authorized to day operation of mulberry cutting without permission in town, as the Land Act itself states that this activity is subject to municipal license, which has not been obtained.
Therefore Bullas UI rate this unilateral action as an intolerable assault on the general and the environment in Bullas.
IU also requests the other political forces present in the municipality that is available to carry out, in the case of persistent attacks on this site, of peaceful mobilizations and to repulse Unit speculative action contrary to the interests of people Bullas.
IU finally calls upon the ownership of adjoining land, to sit with the Government of Bullas to reach an agreement satisfactory to the parties, instead of opting for the confrontation that lead to actions such as denounce.
