The municipality of Bullas available today with a Local Plan for Equal Opportunities between women and men, which regulates actions on gender equality in the town, explained the director of the Institute of Women of the Region of Murcia, Teresa Moreno, during the presentation of the document which was attended by Mayor of Bullas, Esteban Egea.
Moreno said that "although there is still much work to do, it is important to note that both the regional government and local councils, we are increasingly involved in achieving full and effective equality of opportunity between women and men."
In preparing this Local Plan Equal first taken into account the diagnosis of the current situation of the municipality through indicators such as demographics, employment, education, immigration and gender violence.
Also, areas of intervention in the document are divided Employment and Training, Education and Stewardship, Health and Social Care, Associations and Social Participation, Culture and Sport, the Media and New Technologies, Planning and Housing, and Violence Against women.
About a dozen municipalities in the region already has an Equal Opportunities Plan, which add up to almost fifty SMEs have also introduced.
According to the director of the Institute of Women, "the regional government meets its goal of advancing gender equality, promoting measures to reconcile work, family and staff, and avoiding any discrimination on grounds of sex."
