The European Commission has approved under LIFE +, the ACT project "Adaptation to climate change in time", it will have a duration of 35 months from January 2010 to November 2012, and is equipped with a total budget € 1,176,258.00.
The same cooperation will start work next Thursday, March 11, with a Management Committee meeting in Ancona to be attended by representatives of Bullas.
This cooperation project aims, among others, the following: development of a process to provide local authorities with the creation of local coping strategies, involving local stakeholders in this strategy, develop and disseminate guidelines to encourage other communities to adopt the same process and strengthen the competence of local authorities in understanding the effects of climate change and, therefore, in planning and implementing policies and actions to adapt to it.
Bullas addition, this new project involves four partners: Comune of Ancona (Italy), as coordinating partner, the Municipal Enterprise for Planning and Development, Patras (Greece), the Cities Forum of Adriatic and Ionian the Italian Institute for Research and Environmental Protection (Ispra).
To develop the same in Bullas, it has the support of various local partners and collaborated with the City on other projects, such as the Council of the Designation of Origin, through its president D.
José Sánchez Lozano, and Gehrlicher Solar Spain, SL, through its CEO and Technical Director D.
Espin Francisco Sánchez.
Locally, this project will be managed through the Local Development Department, in collaboration with the Environment, will work in the direction of obtaining a real and effective response to climate change impacts, increasing resistance of human and natural ecosystems, reducing their vulnerability.
Special attention to effects on the agricultural sector, water shortages, the risk of forest fires and desertification and soil erosion.
